Ayo!
well, idk if i have much to say this week, cuz it just flew by and this week feels the same as the rest of the weeks. ha, but its still going good here! i would say that the difference is that we get better at cebuano every week! and one of my goals is to SYL (speak your language-cebuano) as much as possible! and i think i've done a pretty good job at it. and i can see that it has been paying off. but i cant' wait til im fluent! cebuano is really fun, and makes time fly by here at the mtc. so last week at TRC(thats where we teach investigators the lesson) we had to teach in cebuano, the first lesson, the message of the restore gospel. and it all had to be in cebuano. and i think it went really well! it was actually really fun! i definetly have alot to learn but i can get the message accross i think. and the investigator asked me 3 questions in cebuano and they were 1, is your god the same as our god? 2, why is there so many churches, 3,do you believe in the bible? so at first i was nervous cuz i didn't know if i could answer those in cebuano, but i remembered the scriptures for each of them and i answered them all in cebuano. so i thought that was neat that i was able to do that in cebuano. its really fun to speak. so the TRC went good, my companion and i are getting better at companionship unity, becuase at first it use to be just me speaking...cuz apparentlly i talk too much.haha i just like to talk alot. haha but we've gotten better, and we teach in unity now so thats good.
So we are getting a new teacher this week. Brother bishop is moving to DC to teach english, and so we had another teach take his spot a couple weeks ago, and then that teacher is getting a new district this week, so our new teach is Sister McCloughlin. she went to cebu, philippines on her mission and has been home for 7 months. so it'll be nice to have a fluent teacher that is fresh from the philippines. but we've gone thru so many teachers since we've been here. but one of our districts in our zone left yesterday and this morning for the field, and so that was the 3rd or 4th group that we've seen leave. ha we are the great grandparents of the mtc. and tomorrow, we get new cebuano district tomorrow. so that will be nice to be able to have some elders that are learning the same language as us. cuz right now, we just have english districts, and then US, the cebuanos. which is fine becuase we talk about them in cebuano and they don't know what we're saying! haha thats fun!
oh, so in two weeks, is when all the new mission presidents come here for training. and thats when we get to meet them. im excited to meet them. and the cool thing, is thats when the general authorities come here to train them. so i hope that i will get to meet some! i really really really want to meet the prophet!! Brother marion, in my branch presidency, knows pres monson really well. so im going to try and talk to brother marion about letting me meet pres monson! i think thatd be so cool!!! but other than that, nothing new is going on here. our district is doing great...the 4 of us elders and 2 sisters. but we're really just anxious to get to the philippines!!! we've gotten use to not having elder lenox around, and we've really started to progress alot faster! oh and one of the things that we do each night, is the room next to mine, those elders are in my zone and they're really good at singing. so every night at 10:10 they come out and sing a hymn, and pretty much our whole zone comes out and joins in on the song. idk if i mentioned that before but its been really neat! and the spirit is really strong. and it has allowed us to keep the spirit with us and everyone is trying harder to be obedient.
But i can't believe i've been here for 7 weeks already! its flying by. it feels like i only have "3-day weeks" here instead of 7 day weeks. but i just can't wait to go to the philippines! i am definetly ready to leave! even tho i have a lot to learn, i feel like im ready. but i really don't know what else to say...other than im trying to write everyone back. tuesdays are my p days and thats the only day i can write letters and such. but i love it here! and i love the gospel! and i know that the book of mormon can answer any questions that we may have. and encourage all of us to read the book of mormon daily! It has great power, and will protect us from temptations. i know this because i have tried it! and i continue to do it everyday. mostly in cebuano, but it is still the same! and im grateful for the atonement!and all that it does for us! Im so grateful for this opportunity to serve the Lord and the People in the Philippines! thanks for all your love and support and prayers! i love and miss you all!!
